The IST Group delivers essential information systems, technology, and communications services to Parliamentary Service, its clients, and partnering agencies. Our team ensures that Parliaments digital environment remains secure, resilient, and innovative in an ever-evolving cyber landscape.

Mō te tūnga | About the Role

As a Cyber Security Risk Advisor, youll play a crucial role in strengthening Parliaments cyber resilience. Youll lead the assessment and reporting of cyber risks, ensure critical controls are audited, and help shape security frameworks aligned with NZISM and PSR. Your work will help us make informed decisions about how and where to invest in our cyber defences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cyber security risk assessments and support Certification & Accreditation processes.
  • Develop and maintain frameworks for continuous risk reporting.
  • Audit critical controls and report on compliance with government cyber standards.
  • Advise IST leadership on current and emerging cyber risks.

Please note: To be considered for this position you must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident and able to obtain and maintain a NZ Government National Security clearance at SECRET level.

Tō kete | What You Will Bring

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NZSIS security clearance to SECRET level or above.
  • Knowledge of NZISM, PSR, and risk management practices in cyber security.
  • Experience in a security governance, audit, or advisory role.
  • Analytical mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and educate stakeholders on security best practices.

This is a full-time permanent role. The starting salary range for this position is $111,343 - $122,931 per annum, with opportunities for tenure progression based on skills and experience.
