Our Opportunity:
As a Field Services Engineer, youll provide critical, hands-on technology support to our generation sites and wider Mercury team. Your role will be to ensure smooth operations by resolving IT issues onsite and remotely, helping us stay connected and responsive across the country. Provide on-site and remote technical support for Mercurys generation sites.
- Respond to hardware, software, and network issues across desktops, laptops, mobiles, and applications
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve incidents and fulfil service requests ensuring minimal downtime
- Participate in an on-call roster to manage out-of-hours support
- Maintain and document site inspections, troubleshoot complex issues, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Adhere to all safety and change management practices to ensure operational integrity
Please note that this role will require the successful candidate to drive to sites within the North Island. You will need to be comfortable operating a vehicle as this is a significant part of the role.
We are looking for:
- Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft technologies, Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, InTune and modern endpoint management
- Experience in a customer-focused or field-based IT support role within a large organisation
- A tertiary qualification in technology or related field, plus Microsoft or Azure certifications preferred
- Excellent communication skills - able to translate technical terms into plain language
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues methodically and independently
- A full, clean drivers licence and the ability to travel to remote sites across the North Island
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous learning
