Housekeeping Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Housekeeping Staff:
- Lead, direct, and train housekeeping staff to ensure all areas of the property are cleaned to standard.
- Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and provide feedback to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure staff are meeting established housekeeping standards.
- Ensure Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Oversee the cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, restrooms, and back-of-house areas.
- Inspect rooms and public spaces for cleanliness, attention to detail, and necessary repairs.
- Ensure rooms are prepared and maintained according to hotel or property standards.
- Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, linens, and other housekeeping materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and order necessary items to maintain sufficient stock levels.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning equipment and materials.
- Guest Satisfaction:
- Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding cleanliness in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to a high standard for guest satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to housekeeping operations.
- Oversee the proper handling of cleaning chemicals and maintain safety standards for staff.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Training and Development:
- Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and guest service standards.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to improve their skills and performance.
- Scheduling and Time Management:
- Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Handle shift changes, absences, and overtime as necessary.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, inventory levels, and maintenance issues.
- Prepare regular reports for management on the status of rooms, supplies, and staff performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a team effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management.
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry
