• Digital and Identity: Developing regulations for the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework and ensuring our identity products are fit for purpose. This work will unlock the future of digital authentication for the products and services New Zealanders consume.
• Community Wellbeing: Volunteering and community-led development are at the heart of New Zealands culture. Craft policies that foster a strong and vibrant community and voluntary sector.
• Gambling and Racing: Modernising gambling regulation for todays digital world, including strategies to minimise harm across the gambling system.
• Online Safety and Classification: Updating consumer information systems for movies, shows, and video games to help manage the risk of harm from online and traditional media content.
• Racing and Betting: Advising and legislating the closure of the greyhound racing industry and ensuring the sustainability of horse racing in New Zealand.

What Youll Do

Our policy analysts get to try their hand at all areas of the policy advice process. As a Policy Analyst, you will conduct thorough research, perform detailed analyses, and actively engage with stakeholders to prepare evidence-based advice for ministers and senior leaders in the public service. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and make a meaningful impact on New Zealands policy landscape.

What Were Looking For

• A relevant degree demonstrating your critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Experience in policy analysis or relevant transferrable skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of legislative processes and the structure of New Zealands government.
• A curious mindset motivated by problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Comfort in engaging with communities, industry, and international stakeholders.
