Project Management Practice Lead

What you will be doing

The Project Management Practice Lead is responsible for overseeing Project Managers and Delivery Coordinators to ensure consistent application of project management best practices, driving successful delivery across Tower.

Reporting to the Head of Process Excellence & Transformation, this role is responsible for the consistent application of project management best practices, which is essential for maintaining high standards and achieving project goals.

By providing leadership and guidance, the Project Management Practice Lead helps Project Managers and Delivery Coordinators develop their skills and capabilities, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Dive into the Heart of Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Project Managers and Delivery Coordinators, including supporting professional development
  • Lead and uplift the programme/project management at Tower by setting consistent standards, frameworks and best practices
  • Identify external (or where appropriate design and deliver internal) training programmes and certifications to build project management skills and capabilities within Tower
  • Offer expert advice and mentorship to Project Managers, ensuring adherence to Transformation Office set methods and tools
  • Identify areas for improvement in project management processes and implement enhancements to optimise project delivery
  • Engage with senior leadership to provide insights into Towers project management capability
  • Oversee the allocation and utilisation of Project managers and Delivery Coordinators across projects, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project performance and drive continuous improvement of Project Managers and Delivery Coordinators

What Youll Need

  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager Practice Lead, or similar role, ideally within the financial services industry
  • Has deep knowledge of project management principles and practices, ideally with a relevant certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2)
  • Experience in shaping a complex organisations approach to project management by influencing cultural and behavioural change to embrace best practice
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, develop talent and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Has knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle and Agile development methodologies and tools
  • Understanding of financial principles and budgeting to manage project costs and ensure financial accountability
  • Experience in implementing and managing Agile methodologies within a project management framework
