Position: Retail Buyer

Work Location: Auckland

Employment Type: Full time (Minimum 30 & maximum 45 hours per week)

Our pay: $30.00 to $35.00, depending on skills and experience

We are a well-established spices selling business based in Auckland. We are now looking for 1 Retail buyer to join our supportive team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Seek out new suppliers and establish relationships with them to ensure a diverse and high-quality product offering.
  • Review and assess the current range of products available from suppliers to ensure they align with the businesss quality and variety standards.
  • Determine the specific spice and herb products to purchase and establish appropriate quantities based on demand and market trends.
  • Negotiate purchase terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable supply arrangements.
  • Analyse inventory data to identify top-selling products and underperforming items, informing purchasing decisions and stock management.
  • Generate reports and forecasts based on sales data and market trends to inform decision-making for product selection and promotional activities.
  • Advise the marketing and merchandising departments on effective strategies for presenting and promoting spice and herb products to maximize customer appeal.
  • Monitor sales data, stock levels, and relevant market information to stay informed about changing market conditions and adapt purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Implement pricing, marketing, promotional, and display strategies to enhance the visibility and saleability of spice and herb products.
  • Collaborate with management on long-term planning and sales promotions, establishing working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements.

The Successful applicant must have followed:

  • 2 years of work experience in relevant filed or industry OR
  • Have level 4 or higher qualification OR any major bachelors degree
