Within Corporate and Shared Services (CSS) the Essential Business team focuses on the innovation, maintenance, security and compliance of the desktop environment in which the two central agencies rely on.
The Essential Business team are looking for a new Systems Engineer super star to join its team. The primary focus for this role is to design, build, secure, manage and maintain the CSS desktop environment to enable our agencies to meet their strategic priorities.
We are looking for a Systems Engineer with proven experience in application packaging, desktop patching, skills with MS Azure, M365, Intune and PowerShell are highly desirable. Additional skills in VMware and MS SQL are a bonus. This position offers plenty of variety and the chance to work in a friendly, flexible and collaborative team environment. There are opportunities to extend into other areas important to CSS, such as disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and security.

We have a 6 month fixed term opportunity for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer to join our team to aid in a critical project.
We are looking for a competent Systems Engineer with proven experience in application packaging, desktop patching, skills with MS Azure, M365, Intune and PowerShell are highly desirable. Ō pūmanawa | About You
We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with real world experience as a Systems Engineer. You will also bring:
- A strong technical aptitude and demonstrated skill in performing technical problem determination and analysis
- Previous experience in cloud technologies; can demonstrate knowledge of supporting and managing cloud-based applications
- Extensive experience in ITIL best practice including incident, change & problem management, as well as have proven commercial experience in infrastructure management including Microsoft OS, virtualization, network & security
- A can-do attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A computer science or ICT related university degree or equivalent industry qualifications or experience
- The ability to meet the criteria required to hold a NZ Government security clearance
