This is a deeply rewarding space to work in. Every day, you’ll help people rebuild confidence and safely return to work after injury. From shaping tailored return‑to‑work plans to collaborating with employers and health professionals, your passion for the best outcomes will support clients to regain independence and momentum in their lives. It’s work that feels good to be part of. If you have a passion for driving clinical excellence, this could be your next big career step!

About The Role

Based in Christchurch, you’ll provide warm, practical clinical leadership while still maintaining your own caseload. You’ll work closely with Service Leads, Team Leads and the Regional Manager to nurture a positive team culture, champion best practice, and keep our vocational services running smoothly across Canterbury.

At the heart of this role is a commitment to clinical excellence and doing the right thing. You’ll set the tone for high standards of care, ensuring decisions are grounded in evidence, ethics, and client‑centred thinking. You’ll support your team to deliver quality over shortcuts, encourage thoughtful clinical reasoning, and ensure every recommendation is made with the client’s long‑term wellbeing and sustainable outcomes in mind. Driving continuous improvement, reflective practice, and consistency across the region will be a key part of your impact.

This isn’t just about targets and policies (although you’ll be confident navigating those). It’s about raising the bar, empowering clinicians to do their best work, and ensuring every client receives care we’re proud to stand behind.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Providing strong clinical leadership, coaching and second opinions to ensure high-quality, consistent service delivery
  • Championing best practice and evidence-based decision-making across the team
  • Collaborating with local leaders to deliver integrated, customer-focused care
  • Maintaining a clinical caseload aligned with best practice and contractual standards
  • Supporting referral triage and ensuring timely, effective service delivery
  • Using reporting tools and insights to identify improvements that enhance client outcomes
  • Mentoring clinicians and fostering a culture of learning, accountability and excellence
Why you’ll love working with us:
  • Market‑competitive remuneration - we truly value our people
  • Monthly bonus scheme
  • Annual professional development budget
  • Clear development pathways if you’re looking to grow further into leadership
  • Active manager feedback and clinical mentorship focused on your growth
  • A genuinely great team culture - regular social events, weekly treats and recognition awards
  • Wellbeing initiatives, including annual eye exams, flu vaccinations and access to the full scope of EAP services

We also like to keep things smart and modern.

Habit is proud to have introduced Heidi Notes for all clinicians. Heidi is our AI medical scribe that reduces administrative load, giving you and your team more time to focus on clinical thinking, client connection, and quality outcomes. It also positions you to make the most of our uncapped incentive programme, with the opportunity to earn an additional performance bonus each month.

You’re an experienced, registered health professional with:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and current APC
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in the rehabilitation sector
  • Strong ACC operational and vocational rehabilitation knowledge
  • A collaborative leadership style grounded in integrity and sound clinical judgement
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and advocate for best‑practice care
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
  • A current driver’s licence

Postgraduate study (completed or in progress) and active professional memberships required under ACC contracts will set you up well in this role.
