Rooney Earthmoving Ltd is a large family-owned South Island business with work bases in Invercargill, Oamaru, Waimate, Timaru, Ashburton and Christchurch. With over 50 years of experience, we have built a trusted reputation for delivering quality civil construction projects throughout the South Island.

Due to our current workload and strong forward work program, we are recruiting Experienced Civil Machine Operators to join our Waimate and North Otago team.

We are looking for experienced people with proven skills in:

• Roading construction and maintenance work.
• Subdivision and commercial siteworks.
• Forestry roading construction and maintenance work.
• Experienced motor scraper operators.

Successful applicants will have attributes that include:

• Proven experience operating civil construction machinery.
• A strong commitment to health and safety with a proven understanding of safe work practices on civil construction projects.
• GPS machine control and final trim experience will be highly regarded.
• Pride in producing quality workmanship while maintaining productivity.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
• Respect for machinery and equipment, with a commitment to keeping it clean and well maintained.
