Top Crops Limited operates horticulture and orchard services in the Tauranga region and requires Horticulture Leading Hands to support supervisors and lead small teams in daily orchard operations. Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

• Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 Qualification.

• Lead small teams in daily horticultural and orchard tasks.
• Carry out and supervise pruning, thinning, canopy management, and general orchard work.
• Allocate tasks and monitor productivity and work quality.
• Train new workers in correct horticultural techniques and safety procedures.
• Operate orchard tools and equipment safely (e.g. secateurs, loppers, pole saws, ATVs if trained).
• Assist supervisors with planning and coordinating seasonal programmes.
• Maintain orchard hygiene, safety, and biosecurity standards.
• Monitor plant health and report pest, disease, or safety issues.
• Support irrigation checks, orchard maintenance, and general site work.
• Maintain basic records of work completed and team attendance.
