We are a busy, high‑quality café committed to serving fresh, flavourful meals made from the best ingredients. We are seeking a skilled Café Chef to join our team in Papamoa, New Zealand.

The purpose of this position is to use your creativity and experience in café‑style cooking to help drive our menu forward while maintaining excellent food quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of café dishes, including breakfast items, cabinet food, light meals, and specials. Ensure portion control and consistent quality across all meals.
• Manage food stock levels, assist with menu development, and provide input on pricing and seasonal offerings.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment in accordance with food safety standards.
• Prepare side dishes, baked items, and cabinet food daily to ensure freshness and availability.

Role Requirements

• At least two years of work experience or a qualification at level 4 or above.
• Strong understanding of café cuisine, including breakfast service, short‑order cooking, and cabinet food preparation.
• Ability to operate standard commercial kitchen equipment confidently and safely.
• High motivation, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, reliable work ethic.
• Mature attitude, initiative in the kitchen, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.

Additional Expectations

• Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
• Drug testing may be conducted as part of the application process to ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment.
• Minimum hourly wage of $28.00, up to $30.00, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Applicants must be legally able to work full‑time in New Zealand.
