Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, NelsonMarlborough seeks three experienced Senior Medical officers to work in our Intensive Care Unit at Nelson Hospital

• 2x Permanent part time 0.75 FTE (60 hours a fortnight)

The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ.SECA | ASMS

In addition to your salary, you will:

• Receive a generous annual allowance to cover your continued medical education expenses (including associated travel and accommodation costs) as well as paid time off to attend events including international conferences.
• Have access to an employer matched Superannuation contribution of up to 6% of annual earnings.

The successful candidates will

• Join a team of 2 Anaesthetists with Intensive Care skills and 2 Intensivists.
• Participate in an Intensive Care daytime roster and an Intensive Care after-hours 1:7 on-call roster.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations and provide expert medical care to critical patients in the intensive care unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Our ICU is working towards CICM level 2 ICU accreditation.

The ideal candidates will

• Bring clinical expertise to a smaller provincial hospital and enjoy the lifestyle the region has to offer.
• Have essential senior experience in providing Intensive Care for patients with acute, severe, and life-threatening conditions.
• Be Anaesthetists with ICU expertise, however, all SMOs with ICU experience will also be considered.
• Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with relevant vocational scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Work with others to promote a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
