About the role
Nelson Hospital seeks for an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Radiology team. Our radiology service is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care across the region. You will work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment. There are opportunities for training, skill development, and career advancement.
You will participate in a 24/7 rotating Monday to Sunday shift roster.
About the Team/Service/Location
Nelson Hospital Radiology is a leading diagnostic provider with two brand-new Siemens dual energy CT scanners and a team of experienced professionals. Our department offers a comprehensive range of imaging services, including General Radiography, CT scanning, MRI, Interventional/Cardiac Cath Lab and ultrasound, dedicating a gold standard service to a diverse patient population. We pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality diagnostic imaging service to improve patient outcomes.
About you:
As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will:
- Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment.
- Perform high quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT scans, and ultrasound, with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging that supports patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their imaging experience.
The ideal applicant:
- Is registered with the NZMRT Board and hold a current APC or eligible.
- Has proven experience in diagnostic imaging.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Has commitment to high standards of patient care.
- Has experience in CT is preferred but not essential
- Is competent with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Has experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
