We are looking for 2x Cooks for a busy Restaurant in Tauranga Region.  Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy workplace.

Job duties:

Preparing curry and Tandoori meals for our customers.

Presenting dishes as per the requirement of the dish.

Ensuring excellent and consistent meals are delivered to guests all the time.

Undertake the seasoning and cooking of food as per the standards

Weighing, measuring, mixing, and preparing dishes according to recipes.

Arranging and garnishing dishes.

Prepare the gravies and sauces as per requirement of the week.

Maintain the temperatures of cooking equipment - tandoor ovens.

Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements of customers.

Maintaining hygiene at all times.

Clean and keep the kitchen as required by NZ standards of health and safety set by the city council.

Must follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Train other kitchen staff whenever required.

Candidate requirements:

Have experience of a minimum 1 year in cookeryIt will be an advantage to have relevant cookery level 2 qualifications and can be used in lieu of work experience. But qualification is not essential.Able to work independentlyGood work experience in similar ethnic food is an advantageAble to work on weekends, public holidays and split shiftsWorking well under pressure and within the time limit.Able to work till late evenings and for large catering orders.
