Waikiwi Fish Supply is based in Invercargill and is dedicated to providing high-quality food and excellent service to both local residents and visitors. We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. This is a full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
The job involves the following tasks and duties:
· Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant
· Seasoning food during preparation and cooking, when necessary
· Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation
· Assisting in improving dishes
· Assisting in managing the overall operation of the kitchen
· Assisting in ordering supplies and stocks
· Ensuring the kitchen’s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations.
To qualify for the job:
· At least two years of work experience in the Kitchen is needed.
· A certificate in a Cookery-related field may replace the required work experience.
· Have a can-do attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours.
· You will be required to work during the weekend.
· You should also have good attention to detail to make sure everything that goes through your hands is thoroughly clean.
