About the role\nThe Greater Wellington Region incorporates the Tararua, Horowhenua, Kāpiti, Porirua, Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. As Strategic Advisor, Māori, you are a key member of our regional leadership team, providing thought leadership and expertise to inform and shape strategies, work programmes and complex system issues aimed at accelerating Māori educational achievement.
\nWorking with our nine iwi partners and other Māori organisations, you will ensure Māori needs and aspirations are at the forefront of decision‑making and promote Māori identity, language and culture. This role actively supports the Director of Education in leading iwi and Māori stakeholder engagements. Given our proximity to parliament, we also receive and respond to requests to support wider mahi, including engagements with Ministers.
\nSalary range: $.119,171 - $.144,560 per annum + kiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.
