About the Role
Mad Dogs Investment Limited is seeking an experienced and reliable Duty Manager to oversee evening operations at our busy restaurant and bar in Auckland . This role ensures smooth service delivery, responsible alcohol management, staff supervision, and compliance with New Zealand food safety and licensing regulations. The Duty Manager acts as the person in charge during assigned shifts and plays a key role in maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
•     Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations during evening shifts.
•     Ensure smooth coordination between front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams.
•     Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and shift handovers.
•     Maintain venue cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance.
Staff Supervision
•     Supervise and support service staff during shifts.
•     Allocate duties, manage breaks, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
•     Provide on‑the‑job training and guidance to new or junior staff.
Customer Service
•     Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
•     Ensure a high standard of service and a positive dining experience.
Licensing & Compliance
•     Act as the duty manager on site, ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
•     Monitor responsible alcohol service and uphold all licensing conditions.
•     Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Stock & Equipment
•     Monitor stock levels during shifts and report low inventory.
•     Assist with restocking and maintaining cost‑effective stock control.
•     Oversee the operation and compliance of on‑site gaming machines.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Required
•     Level 5 or above Qualifications or 2 years work expereinces 
•     Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or bar operations.
•     Strong communication and leadership skills.
•     Ability to work evening and night shifts.
•     Good understanding of food safety and alcohol licensing requirements.
Desirable
•     Current Manager’s Certificate under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
•     Experience supervising staff in a restaurant or bar environment is preferred
•     Class 1 Driver Licence (advantageous).
