About us:

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and vibrant team at Warrington Riverside Vets for Pets. We welcome candidates at all stages of their career, whether you are looking for your first opportunity or your next challenge.

Warrington is located in the North West of England, between Manchester and Liverpool, and is well connected to the M62, with easy access to city exploring, beaches, and international airports for weekend get‑aways or extended breaks.

Our practice is situated at the Pets at Home store on Junction 9 retail park, north of Warrington, and is under a 30‑minute walk from the local train station.

The team currently consists of 4 full‑time vets, 8 RVN’s, 3 VCA’s, 5 CCA’s and an administrator, all led by partners Alex and Sam who were joint veterinary partners over 10 years ago. We value colleague development, offering regular EMS placements for vet students, internal mentoring for new graduates, and are recognised as an RVN and VCA teaching practice.

About the role:

We require a qualified veterinary surgeon to join our team. The role offers full or part‑time hours between 20 – 40 hours per week, with schedule flexibility including discussion of lunch breaks. Weekend shifts (both Saturdays and Sundays) are a prerequisite.

The surgery is equipped with digital x‑ray, dental x‑ray, ultrasound, an in‑house laboratory, multi‑parameter monitors, an automatic blood pressure machine, bi‑polar diathermy, and complete surgical kits. Our partner Alex is an OV, one of our vets holds a surgery certificate, and we have a veterinary behaviourist on the nursing team, allowing us to accept behavioural referrals in‑house.

Consultations are typically 15 minutes, with diary space for emergencies or same‑day bookings, and additional time allocated for administrative tasks. The nursing team conducts appointments for second vaccinations, post‑operative checks, and scheduling, supporting the veterinary team. Our collaborative approach has earned us RCVS accreditation and ISFM and RAWF silver awards.

Benefits:
  • Excellent career and development opportunities.
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Relocation package.
  • Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate.
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS).
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off The Vet Group and Pets at Home.

To apply, or for further information, please contact Rach at and we will get back to you within 1 working day.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
