NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $111,443 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. About the role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Financial Performance Team is a key enabler for the organisation by ensuring our decision makers are provided with robust, insightful information along with advice as they form and deliver their business plans. As part of our financial sustainability programme you will be instrumental in the monitoring of key areas of the programme, as we look to achieve our Strategy 2030.

You will report to the Strategic Finance Manager and be a key partner to the business by providing a high level of financial and commercial support to senior leaders in the portfolio. On any day you may be providing strategic analysis and advice, including on multi-year plans, or ensuring our management accounting is accurate and supports effective decision making. In all of these your role will be focused around influencing change to grow our financial sustainability. 

In this role you will: 

  • Actively influence day-to-day decisions, providing up-to-date analysis and advice, and have an understanding of operational and organisational impacts.
  • Be responsible for the financial support, monitoring, reporting, and reviewing management accounts for reasonableness.
  • Assist in collating Portfolio and Organisational reports for monthly presentations to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and National Board.
  • Partner with portfolios to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the budgeting and forecasting process, adopting a challenger posture, where required.
  • Conduct proactive financial analysis to support diverse user needs, including portfolio managers and cross-departmental projects.
  • Quantify project benefits, providing financial modelling for business cases, including capital expenditure.
  • Conduct post-audits on projects to assess achieved benefits and identify lessons learned.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.

To be successful you will have: 

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with senior leaders in providing financial support and advice and earn their trust through behaving in a professional manner and using discretion.
  • An ability to analyse information and use logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions to guide and influence both financial and operational goals.
  • Experience leading budgets and multi-year forecasts, would further support your success in the role.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.
  • A commercial background would be advantageous but not essential
  • CPA or CA membership preferred.
  • A passion for humanitarian work and community resilience
