As we continue to invest in technology and improve our digital capabilities, we are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to ensure our IT systems remain reliable, secure and efficient.
The Role
This is a practical, hands-on role responsible for providing IT support across the organisation. You will diagnose and resolve technical issues, maintain the company's computer infrastructure, support users with hardware and software, and assist with the ongoing operation of our e-commerce website and online ordering systems to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Providing IT support to staff across the office, warehouse and business operations.
- Responding to technical enquiries and resolving hardware, software, operating system and network connectivity issues.
- Determining appropriate hardware and software solutions to meet users' operational requirements.
- Installing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners and other peripheral devices.
- Installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications and other business software.
- Managing user accounts, passwords, access permissions and security settings.
- Monitoring the performance of computer systems, networks and business applications to ensure reliable operation.
- Assisting with the installation, configuration and maintenance of the company's local area network (LAN), wireless network and internet connectivity.
- Maintaining backup systems and assisting with cybersecurity, antivirus protection and data security practices.
- Providing technical support for cloud-based services, email systems and other business applications.
- Supporting and maintaining the company's e-commerce website and online ordering platform, including technical troubleshooting, website administration and content updates.
- Liaising with website hosting providers, software vendors and external IT service providers to resolve technical issues where required.
- Assisting with the efficient operation and integration of online ordering systems with internal business processes.
- Repairing or arranging the repair or replacement of faulty computer equipment and peripheral devices where required.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, system records and IT asset registers.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability and security of the company's IT systems and recommending practical technology solutions.
- Providing guidance and basic training to staff on the effective use of computer hardware, software and business applications.
Skills and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A relevant IT qualification (NZQF Level 5 Diploma or higher), or at least three years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 and computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting desktop computers, printers, peripheral devices and business applications.
- Experience supporting computer networks, including routers, switches, wireless networks and internet connectivity.
- Experience supporting websites or e-commerce platforms such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify or similar systems.
- Knowledge of cloud services, data backup procedures and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and practical manner.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise competing tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
- A current full New Zealand Driver Licence is preferred.
