Job Details:

• Hourly rate: $26.00 - $27.00 
• Full time:  30 - 50 hours per week
• Working place: Auckland Region 

About Us

We are a long-established Auckland-based construction and property development company with extensive experience delivering residential and commercial building projects across the Auckland region. Due to increasing project demands and workforce changes, we are currently seeking several motivated Junior Carpenters to join our growing team. 

We are committed to building a stable and reliable workforce and are therefore only seeking candidates who are looking for long-term employment. Applicants seeking short-term or temporary work are advised not to apply, so that both parties’ time is not unnecessarily spent.

The role will include, but not limited to:

• To study drawings and specifications to decide what materials to be used and relevant installation procedures
• To cut materials with chainsaw, assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts with tools such as drills
• To repair exiting wood planks with chainsaw and electric planner
• To establish the framework of structures
• To erect framework and roof framing, lay floorboard and check the trueness of structures
• To nail fascia panels, sheathing roofs and ceiling batten, fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
• To assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• To cut wood joints with tools such as chainsaw
• May construct concrete formwork
• May work with plastic laminates, Perspex and metals
• Other duties may be reasonably required by the senior carpenters

Job pre-requisites: 

• At least one year’s relevant working experience gained in the same industry (bachelor’s degree in any field can replace the required work experience)
• Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.
• physically capable of performing heavy work be able to work overtime 
• The successful candidate must not have any criminal convictions
