Kitchen Manager / Chef - Full Time

Tartines is a French-inspired café known for quality food and warm service. We are seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead our kitchen team and help take our food offering to the next level.

About the role:

  • Full-time, approx. 40 hours per week

  • Occasional evenings for private dinners and functions

  • Opportunity to shape a French-influenced menu, as well as cabinet food and takeaway meals

  • Immediate start available

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining seasonal menus with a French influence

  • Preparing cabinet food and takeaway meals to a high standard

  • Ensuring kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance

  • Managing stock, ordering, and cost control

  • Leading and motivating a small team in a busy café environment

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Chef or Sous chef

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, compliance, and cost management

  • Creative flair and passion for French-style cuisine

  • Reliable, organised, and able to work well under pressure

  • Flexible to occasionally work evenings for functions

  • Must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand
