We are looking for several Machinists with strong machining capability for our client, you will be required to work in the Bay of Plenty area. This hands on role involves precision fitting and machining work carried out directly on industrial plant and equipment, with weekly guaranteed hours of at least 30 and a gross hourly rate between $35 and $40 per hour.

You’ll be working across a range of heavy industry environments, carrying out in-position machining, repairs, and mechanical fit-ups to a high standard of safety and workmanship. This role suits a practical tradesperson who’s confident working independently on site and takes pride in getting the job done right.

You will be required to undertake the following job duties:

• Ensure components manufactured are all to specification, as per drawings or
  instructions provided.
• To maintain good trades standards for all work performed.
• Participate as an effective team member.
• Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
• Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Try to maintain timely production outputs as per production plan.
• Ensuring eff ective and accurate manufacturing output of the appropriatequality. – 95% of time.
• Ensure all design makes sense prior to starting manufacture of parts. Apply common sense test.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures.

Experience requirements:

• 3 years’ experience or more experiences in the same role is preferred.
• Solid machining background, particularly on-site or portable machining.
• Experience working in heavy industrial or plant environments.
• Confident reading drawings, tolerances, and measurements.
• Strong safety awareness and site discipline.
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team
