The Kitchen Place Limited is a well-established Auckland-based manufacturer specialising in high-quality customised cabinetry, benchtops, kitchens, wardrobes and vanities. Operating since 2006, we provide integrated design, manufacturing, supply and installation solutions for residential renovations, bespoke interior projects and multi-unit apartment developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance planning strategies for plant equipment, workshop facilities, production machinery and supporting operational assets.
- Prepare, schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimise downtime and support smooth manufacturing operations.
- Monitor the condition, performance and availability of machinery and equipment used in cabinetry, benchtop, kitchen and joinery production.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production, quality, process engineering, warehouse and logistics teams to reduce disruption to daily operations.
- Liaise with internal staff, contractors, suppliers and service providers to arrange inspections, repairs, servicing and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain maintenance records, service schedules, spare parts information, inspection reports and equipment-related documentation.
- Support safe and efficient workshop operations by coordinating maintenance work in line with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Assist in identifying equipment risks, recurring faults, process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement across the manufacturing facility.
- Plan maintenance resources, materials and timing to ensure equipment and facilities are available for production and project delivery needs.
- Monitor completion of scheduled maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding works, defects or operational issues.
- Support quality and production outcomes by ensuring machinery, tools and facilities are maintained to reliable operating standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, asset management practices and operational coordination.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in maintenance planning, production coordination, facilities management, manufacturing operations or a similar role.
- Understanding of plant equipment, workshop machinery, preventive maintenance and repair scheduling.
- Experience in cabinetry, joinery, manufacturing, construction materials, fit-out or related industries will be highly regarded.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate maintenance work around production and delivery deadlines.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work with production teams, contractors, suppliers and management.
- Attention to detail and a practical approach to safety, documentation, equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
