Red Tussock is a 20 unit motel in the Southern Lakes area of Te Anau, Southland, New Zealand. We are looking to fill a permanent full-time Motel Manager role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

We require the ideal candidate to have at least 1 year of experience in a management role in the hospitality industry, preferably in New Zealand and ideally this person also has knowledge of the Southern Lakes Region.

This role requires an honest and reliable person who takes pride in their work, is physically fit, has an eye for detail and who ensures that our premises are maintained to the exceptionally high standard expected from ourselves and our guests.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Duties include:

Competency in motel management at all levels of motel operation. This includes reservations, reception, reviewing customer satisfaction, housekeeping requirements and duties, ordering supplies, property maintenance, checking accounts for payment, security and fire safety arrangements, maintaining Health & Safety Manual, booking guest tours and providing guests with local information.

ROSTERED SHIFTS/WORK FLEXIBILITY:

Because of the nature of the hospitality business there are seasonal fluctuations and hours may vary from week to week, depending on room occupancy, therefore flexibility is required on days worked, including weekends and statutory days and being on call.

It is preferable that you have your own accommodation, and hold a full drivers license and have access to a private vehicle as you may need to travel to work from the surrounding area in early mornings, late evenings, weekends statutory holidays.

HOURS:

Minimum 40 hours per week.

PAY RANGE:

We offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from NZ$35 to NZ$40, depending on experience.
