United Autolion, a rapidly growing auto repair facility in Auckland, seeks qualified Motor Mechanic & Spray Painter. United Autolion now serves vehicles ranging from Hybrid EVs and Petrol.

The company offers a full-time permanent position with minimum 30 hrs/week.

Motor Mechanic

Key responsibilities include:

  • The role entails general diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and WOF inspections.
  • Technicians will work in a well-equipped workshop, handling routine tasks and technically involved repairs like engine overhauls and hybrid vehicle maintenance
  • performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
  • Applicants should demonstrate proficiency across multiple makes and models

What we are looking for:

  • Have 3 years plus experience as a Motor Mechanic
  • Must have an eye for detail and be able to consistently produce a high quality of work
  • Be proactive and be able to problem solve with a can do attitude.
  • NZQF Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
  • At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Spray Painter

Key responsibilities include :

  • Have the ability to organise yourself and work unsupervise
  • Desire to be part of a team
  • Have a strong work ethic and presentation standards
  • Perform minor damage repairs
  • Prepare and paint vehicle panels
  • Buff & polish panels as required
  • Travel to customer addresses for convenient repairs
  • Prepare panels for painting, including rubbing, filling, and priming.
  • Perform touch-up work and full paint jobs from bare metal to the final coat (removing rough spots, sanding surfaces, masking, colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, applying polish to vehicles and waxing and polishing finished paintwork).
  • Buff and finish painted surfaces to ensure a high-quality result.
  • Identify and repair sags, dents, and other imperfections before painting.
  • Mix and match paint colors accurately to achieve the desired finish.
  • Utilize major brand paint systems and related materials effectively

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Have 3 years plus experience as an Automotive Spray Painter
  • Must have an eye for detail and be able to consistently produce a high quality of work
  • Be proactive and be able to problem solve with a can do attitude.
  • Must have great Health and Safety awareness and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • NZQF Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
  • At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
