As our online retail operations continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Multimedia Specialist to support the creation, integration, optimisation, and management of digital content systems across our e-commerce platforms. This role combines multimedia production, web technologies, and digital asset workflow management to improve product presentation, website performance, and customer engagement.

 

About the Role

The Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for analysing, designing, developing, and maintaining multimedia-enabled web solutions and digital content systems that support the company’s online sales channels. The role requires a balance of creative capability and technical expertise to deliver high-quality digital experiences across websites, promotions, and customer-facing platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements and design, develop, and enhance multimedia-enabled e-commerce websites and online interfaces using creative design principles, scripting languages, web technologies, and integration with relevant operating environments.
  • Design and develop digital animations, product imagery, presentations, promotional graphics, interactive content, audio clips, video clips, and online applications using multimedia software, design tools, utilities, and programming technologies.
  • Liaise with internal IT personnel, hosting providers, and network specialists regarding website-related matters including hosting environments, security controls, storage allocation, user access permissions, backup procedures, business continuity measures, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Design, develop, integrate, maintain, and support multimedia web components and associated code using specialised inputs such as product images, graphic files, video files, audio files, structured product data, and scripting elements to improve online functionality and product presentation.
  • Assist in analysing online business needs, specifying digital requirements, and developing internet strategies, web-based methodologies, and implementation plans to improve e-commerce performance, customer engagement, and digital efficiency.
  • Create, edit, manipulate, and optimise computer animation, audio, video, and graphic image files for use across websites, e-commerce platforms, mobile resources, online promotions, interactive product displays, customer support resources, and digital security environments.
  • Develop and improve automated workflows for multimedia content generation, image optimisation, catalogue uploads, metadata tagging, content classification, and digital asset processing.
  • Maintain digital asset management systems including media storage, indexing, retrieval processes, file version control, and workflow coordination for large product catalogues and promotional content libraries.
  • Monitor and improve multimedia website performance including media loading speed, responsiveness, mobile compatibility, user interaction, and overall digital customer experience.
  • Research emerging multimedia technologies, AI-assisted content tools, and digital commerce trends, and provide recommendations for ongoing platform improvement and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Multimedia, Information Technology, Digital Media, Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively, at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using multimedia software for graphic design, image editing, video production, animation, or interactive content creation.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, AI-based content solutions, or workflow optimisation systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
