The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Team Leader to join our 24/7 manufacturing operation in Whanganui. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll coordinate extrusion line operations, uphold high safety and quality standards, and support your team to perform at their best.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader — or a senior operator ready to step up — who thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, support, and motivate your team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production outcomes.

• Allocate workloads and resources to meet daily and weekly production plans.

• Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Quality culture across all activities.

• Monitor production quality to reduce waste and downtime.

• Troubleshoot issues and guide operators in applying effective corrective actions.

• Support training, development, and performance conversations within your team.

• Foster teamwork, communication, and accountability on every shift.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven people leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships.

• Proactive approach to Health, Safety, and Quality.

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.

• A positive attitude with a genuine interest in developing people and improving processes.

• Experience in plastics extrusion or a similar production environment is advantageous.

• Ambitious operators eager to step into a leadership role are encouraged to apply.
