About the Service
Starships Digital and Community Engagement service is continually transforming and is dedicated to upholding and actualising Te Tiriti o Waitangi and championing Māori and Pacific health equity. The service works alongside Māori and Pacific communities, ensuring their voices, values, and lived experiences shape our programmes. In this way our work supports community, policy and advocacy, and digital engagement across the breadth of Starship, Te Toka Tumais services, as well as Ririki Haumaru Safekids Aotearoa.
About the role
This is a fixed term (6 months), full-time (1FTE) Programmes Coordinator role at Ririki Haumaru Safekids Aotearoa (part of the wider Starship Digital and Community Engagement team). This role provides administrative, planning, procurement, and logistics support for key Community Engagement programmes aimed at helping whānau, aiga and family to protect the wellbeing of tamariki. Typical tasks include the collection, aggregation and reporting of programme data, and maintaining an effective and timely supply chain.
In addition to maintaining efficient processes, there are also a range of customer service responsibilities and scope to progress into a community facing role in the future. Applicants with the added ability to build trusting relationships with whānau and communities, and who have a passion for supporting programmes that strengthen the wellbeing and safety of tamariki Māori and Pacific children are encouraged to apply.

Ririki Haumaru Safekids Aotearoa (RHSA) focuses on unintentional childhood injury prevention (CIP), mainly in and around the home, for tamariki aged 0-14 years. Our flagship kaupapa, the Home Safety Programme (HSP) promotes CIP, particularly for 0-4 year olds through the supply of safety devices into the home to prevent accidents before they happen.
