About the Role:This is a contract role for someone who knows investigations inside out and wants to put their skills to meaningful use. You'll step into a key position within a regulatory team that's growing and evolving, helping to manage active cases (including one current prosecution) and building strong case files that stand up in court.
You'll work alongside in-house counsel, Crown Prosecutors, fire investigators, and members of the community, making sure investigations are thorough, fair, and handled with professionalism and empathy. It's a chance to use your experience while helping shape the future of how this organisation approaches compliance and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations into breaches of fire safety legislation, from fact-finding to file preparation
- Work closely with legal teams, prosecutors, investigators, and community members
- Contribute to the development of better systems and processes for compliance and enforcement
Who We're Looking For:We're looking for someone who brings both skill and heart to investigative work. The ideal person will:
- Have a strong background in investigations, ideally within policing, regulation, or enforcement
- Be confident preparing material for prosecution and working with legal partners
- Bring empathy, resilience, and adaptability when dealing with sensitive or complex situations
- Be proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work independently while collaborating openly with colleagues
