About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurants. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and leading high-performing teams.

 

  • Position: Restaurant Manager
  • Employment type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Remuneration: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • Location: This role requires the successful candidate to work across both Dunedin and Christchurch locations.
  • Hours of work: Minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Working days & times: 7 days per week, rostered shifts between 6 AM – 5 AM

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, service, and customer satisfaction are consistently met
  • Manage staff recruitment, training, performance, and rostering
  • Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and liaise with suppliers
  • Monitor and manage budgets, wage costs, and financial performance
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service and increase revenue
  • Coordinate marketing and promotional activities as needed
  • Prepare reports on sales, customer feedback, and operational issues
  • Assist with administrative duties, including banking, payroll, and invoicing
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

About You


To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a management or hospitality role; OR
  • A diploma in a relevant field OR,
  • A bachelor’s degree in any field, demonstrating key skills such as problem-solving, communication, time management, leadership, teamwork, learning agility, adaptability, professionalism, and accountability
  • A solid understanding of food safety regulations and workplace health and safety standards
  • Experience with Thai cuisine or in an Asian dining environment is an advantage
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive work ethic.
  • A team-oriented approach.
