Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role
The Telecommunications Specialist technician is responsible for investigating and resolving system-wide fault conditions using a wide range of diagnostic tools and techniques and providing specialist support to our operational staff. A key part of this position is to provide specialist telecommunications support for the operational radio telecommunications including second and third level fault and problem resolution.
You will also contribute to technical leadership in IT telecommunications through the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance and effective use of telecommunication services.
This is a fixed term or secondment position until 7 July 2027.
Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:
Bring your hands-on experience and technical skill in modern land mobile radio (LMR) telecommunications technology with a focus on paging and ESB and UHF radio frequency management. You will have a continuous improvement and risk management mindset along with strong problem-solving skills. You will have excellent relationship building skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of understanding. It would be an advantage to have an understanding of emergency management systems.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
Salary range $102,751 - $114,168, actual salary dependent on skills and experience.
