Volunteer Divisional Youth Manager - Aotearoa Division

A pivotal role in the Youth team, you will provide leadership, direction and support to Youth Leaders and members of the Aotearoa Youth division (online division). A team player with well‑honed organisational skills, you will lead the development and delivery of a high quality programme which enhances the personal development of its members. This will include planning of annual, term, nightly and lesson level programmes – and of course the appropriate resources (ratio).

About the role
  • Effectively manage the Division to ensure a high performing team of Leaders and members
  • Provide mentoring, development and people leadership to Assistant Divisional Managers, Youth Leaders and Cadet NCOs
  • Contribute to annual, term, nightly and lesson programme planning
  • Ensure Divisional involvement across all aspects of the Youth Programme
  • Actively engage in the delivery of Regional and District Level events as required
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to all St John Policies and procedures (CPP compliance and reporting, issue management and escalation protocols)
  • Make sure all activities are suitable, relevant, and of course, loaded with fun and adventure for all participants, whilst taking care to ensure they are in line with St John policy

  • Proven leadership skills and a keen interest in working with young people
  • A proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • An aptitude for working with a diverse demographic group e.g. age, culture, background
  • You will most certainly be an active team player
  • Have a natural talent for thinking and working outside the square
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to use a computer and have access to the Internet and E‑Mail
  • Contribute a minimum of two hours per week to the role and attend overnight camps from time to time
