About the Role

The general x-ray department has recently been rebuilt with four new Siemens DR x-ray rooms, (two in the hospital and two in the rural areas (Raetihi and Taihape)) and a new Siemens screening room. We have two mobile x-ray units (Philips and Siemens) and two image intensifiers, both Siemens.

If you are interested in joining our team and are dedicated to providing excellent patient care, have a strong commitment to high workplace standards and are a person with a friendly flexibly attitude then this could be the job for you.

The role currently requires some shift work and call in the evenings and weekends.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Whanganui Radiology is a small, friendly department. Patient care is at the center of all we do, and a smile goes a long way.

Whanganui is a pretty, easy to live in town with easy access to larger centers while maintaining a strong sense of community. Situated along the Whanganui River and near both the sea and mountains, it offers fantastic outdoor lifestyle opportunities. The area also boasts a thriving arts community, and housing remains affordable compared to many larger cities.

About you

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic New Zealand registered MIT to join our team for a fixed term. If youre seeking a role where your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate approach are truly valued — this could be the perfect fit.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualification
  • A current Annual Practising Certificate issued by the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board
  • A proactive attitude and openness to taking on additional responsibilities such as hazard management, health and safety, and IANZ processes
  • An interest in ongoing professional development, including cross-modality training as opportunities arise
