Te Puni Kōkiri is the governments principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.

Due to an internal secondment, we have an opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to join our Data & Insights team within the Strategy puni.

Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity

  • Manage and maintain data in alignment with Māori Data Governance frameworks
  • Analyse and ensure the staff have information and data at their fingertips
  • Present to Ministrys senior stakeholders on a range of analytical and statistical outputs, explaining and justifying the decisions made at all stages of collection and production processes.
  • Contribute to the teams work programme

The likely appointment range is $76,022 to $84,468 based on skills and experience. The full grade for this role is $76,022 to $101,362 per annum with a mid-point of $84,468

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An ability to work collaboratively with employees across the Ministry
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative methods of data evaluation
  • Familiarity with project management processes and practices
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong research and analysis skills and judgement to develop appropriate recommendations.
