The role/Te mahi
We have an opportunity for a proactive, organised and driven individual to join the Operations Lead team within the Operations Division.
As an Operations Lead, you will lead staff and proactively coordinate professional services for the smooth and efficient daily functioning to a diverse range of operation areas at the University. The role will implement applicable policies and business plans to ensure the realisation of the divisions strategic objectives and goals.
This role supports a wide range of interesting departments with more of a corporate / business focus (rather than academic areas). These are some of the services that help to operate the University, and this role provides valuable insight and networks within these areas.
The role will require you to:- Communicate regularly and work closely with stakeholders.
- Develop a working knowledge of your teams day-to-day administrative scope and University of Otago systems and processes.
- Ensure your staff are appropriately trained, equipped and supported to fulfil their roles.
- Work continuously to improve systems and processes.

The successful candidate will have:- Significant experience in a busy and/or complex administration environment.
- The ability to be calm, adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with a range of key stakeholders.
- A focus on fostering empowered and driven team environments.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
You will be a highly organised self-starter, who enjoys problem solving and is excellent at building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues. Your relationship building skills will be important, ensuring that you become the trusted point of contact for a range of staff and visitors.

This is a permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) position, located in Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $78,018 to $82,753 per annum. Top of the range is $97,368.
