What you will be doing

Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer, this role supports teams within Product, Pricing & Underwriting (PPUW) to identify and manage key risks and obligations while enabling Towers purpose to inspire, shape and protect the future for the good of our customers and communities.

Youll also have a dotted reporting line up to the Chief Risk Officer and be a key contributor to the Tower Risk Community, ensuring alignment with Towers Frameworks and Policies and supporting an enterprise-wide approach.

  • Facilitate a strong risk management environment underpinned by a positive risk culture.
  • Influence and engage the business in well-informed and customer-focussed decision-making with a focus on outcomes.
  • Be a specialist adviser to the entire leadership group and a key member of the broader Product, Pricing & Underwriting team (PP&UW) and Tower Risk Community.
  • Support robust risk management for usual business activities and for project and change initiatives

What Youll Need

  • 7+ years experience in risk, compliance, assurance or legal roles with the financial services industry.
  • Experience in product management would be considered favourably.
  • Experience partnering or working alongside the business to uplift processes and risk and control maturity.
  • Proven capability with data analytics and deriving data-led insights through a risk management system
  • Strong understanding of risk management and monitoring including risk identification, assessment, mitigation; effective control design, implementation and testing; and assurance processes.
  • Strong understanding of key regulatory regimes as applicable to financial market conduct and consumer protection of the general insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards as they relate to the services, advice and relationship between a financial services business and their customers, specifically in an insurance environment.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with proven capability to prepare clear, concise and effective reporting to governance forums.
  • Significant experience in financial services industry, with general insurance product knowledge an advantage
  • Proven ability to operate successfully within a complex and dynamic operational environment.
