We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to work closely with our villages across New Zealand. Based in Christchurch, you will play a vital role in contributing to our commitment to a positive safety culture. Working with our management team, your priority will be to ensure our villages are a safe environment for our employees, residents and our visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with key stakeholders across our villages to advise and promote positive health and safety
• Undertaking regular audits and site visits, and reporting on findings to drive further improvement
• Regular travel around NZ as required
• Identifying, implementing and supporting local health & safety priorities, as well as proactively keeping up to date with changes in legislation
• Implementing and training others on new health and safety initiatives
• Contributing to various exciting health & safety projects

Who are you?

You have:

• A proven track record in Health and Safety and/or compliance with a passion for mentoring others, as well as a solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation in NZ
• Taken ownership of health and safety and influenced behavioural change in a team/department
• A proven ability to build relationships and positively influence people, as well as experience coaching individuals and teams in different environments
• Taken a proactive approach to anticipate issues and improve current practices
• Analysed complex problems to identify multiple root causes
• Strong communication skills which you have used effectively at different organisational levels
• Knowledge of construction health and safety practices is desirable, but not essential
