Concrete Blocklayer

Job Description:

• Lay concrete blocks for the construction of walls, foundations, retaining walls, patios, and garden structures.
• Study plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Mix mortar or grout and spread it using trowels to bind blocks together.
• Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels.
• Cut and shape blocks to fit corners, arches, and complex designs using power saws or hand tools.
• Ensure precise alignment, leveling, and plumb of each course to meet building codes and project standards.
• Repair and maintain existing concrete block structures.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals including site supervisors, landscapers, and general laborers.
• Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment to minimize risk on job sites.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

Requirements:

• At least two years of relevant experience is required.
• Familiarity with concrete block laying techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and measurements.
• Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and work in varying outdoor conditions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with co-workers on sites.
