The Opportunity - Te tūranga:

We are hiring a Data Visualisation Specialist to join our Data Analytics team. This role is crucial in constructing data solutions and catalysing change through insightful data analysis. As a bridge between our data analytics squad and TVNZs diverse user base, data analysts and data scientists, you will:

• Lead the development of advanced data analytics solutions utilising our Azure Data Platform.
• Develop and maintain intricate feature layer data models to maximise TVNZs data value, ensuring high quality and maintainability.
• Curate, organise, and document data definitions, metrics, and reporting environments across Azure Data Lake and PowerBI, enhancing value and efficiency while upholding data quality.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to create innovative analytical products.
• Drive automation and leverage data to refine processes and decision-making across TVNZ.
• Support the Data teams in creating accessible data resources and corporate dashboards.
• Embed the Data Visualisation best practice and framework across the business.

What Were Looking For - Tā mātou e kimi nei:

• Strong experience, building and operationalising end-to-end data analytics visualisations and dashboards, delivering demonstrable value to the business
• High level of experience using PowerBI (at administrator level) and experience with design & implementation of PowerBI solutions
• Experience working with large datasets and must have an understanding of when to use aggregation and / or incremental refresh
• Hands-on expertise in programming/scripting languages like Python, and querying languages such as SQL, Dax, or M query (in PowerBI context)
• Create compelling data visualisations, charts, and dashboards to effectively communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Solid and demonstrable experience synthesising complex functional requirements into clean, intuitive visuals that provide insight and support decision making
• Experience a broad knowledge of data visualisation approaches including the use of rapid prototyping to create positive and engaging user experience
• A strong communicator capable of discussing data with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven leadership in analytical engineering projects from inception to operationalisation
• Familiarity with modern data platforms, preferably Azure, and experience with Big Data challenges using platforms like Apache Spark
