The International Marketing and Recruitment Team is responsible for the recruitment of international students, enhancing Otagos profile internationally, and identifying and maximising international business development opportunities.
As a team we work in an exciting, fast-paced environment which demands flexibility and adaptability to respond to various market demands through our core marketing and recruitment cycle.
The role/Te mahi
International Marketing Coordinators are involved in a diverse range of activities. The nature of international marketing means that these are not typical ‘marketing roles, as our various activities require skills in not only marketing, but administration, stakeholder management (internal and external), customer service and sound technical skills to work comfortably with a range of university systems.
This particular role will focus on collateral design, digital marketing and content production in support of our overall international marketing and recruitment strategy.
Key tasks include:- Designing and producing print collateral and digital assets to support market needs.
- Working with international students to curate and create engaging content for social channels.
- Generating content to meet partner requests.
- Coordinating the international Instagram account and other social media accounts.
- Executing digital marketing campaigns.
- Preparing presentation slide decks, coordinating film briefs, supporting film project delivery and photoshoots.
- Student ambassador engagement.
- Supporting marketing activities and events including live webinars and open days.
This is a busy role in a fast-paced international team environment, with plenty of opportunity to further develop and enhance your technical skills and international higher education industry knowledge with the support of international market experts and experienced marketing leaders.
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
You will be confident working with design and content creator tools, keeping updated with social media trends and trying new ideas, to produce and generate engaging content.
This role would suit a creative graphic designer, who has experience in content generation for social media and digital marketing campaigns (ideally targeting international audiences or focused on international higher education) and someone who has worked with publication and collateral design (ideally with multi-language and/or diverse country audiences).
Successful candidates will also:- Be highly proficient with a variety of design creation and video/image editing apps and software, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, CapCut, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Have experience creating videos (in both long-form and short form), reels, graphic artworks, script writing.
- Demonstrate some knowledge and experience in executing digital marketing campaigns.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a diverse organisation.
- Enjoy meeting people, relate well to students and be able to engage with people from different countries.
- Be positive and proactive team players who are eager to learn, offer assistance to colleagues and always look for ways to improve and give something new a go.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours) position, located in Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $67,566 to $72,086. Top of the range $77,570.
