Livestock Transport Coordinator

Te Tūranga | About the Role:

Were looking for a highly organised and proactive Livestock Transport Coordinator to join our Logistics team at Silver Fern Farms. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth coordination and dispatch of livestock from our valued farmer suppliers to our processing sites across Aotearoa.

Working closely with our Livestock Transport Manager, youll manage day-to-day scheduling, liaise with transport providers, and support ongoing optimisation of our digital systems. Youll help resolve invoice queries, support pricing and contract arrangements for special movements (like inter-island and grazing), and ensure that were running an efficient, accurate and compliant transport service.

This is a fast-paced and collaborative role that will see you working closely with our wider Livestock network, software system partners, and third-party transporters. Youll be part of a supportive and committed team that values clear communication, shared success, and continuous improvement.

Based from one of our central hub offices, ideally in Christchurch, the role provides connectivity to our sites in regions right across the motu - giving you visibility across our operations and a real sense of impact.

• Proven experience in transport, logistics or livestock-related industries
• Confident negotiation and dispute resolution skills

• Commercial acumen and the ability to work with contracts and pricing
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• A proactive approach to digital systems and process optimisation
• A team-first mindset and ability to work independently when needed
