Senior Engineer Dams

This is a full time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $106,892 to 150,906 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience. The midpoint of $125,755

The opportunity

You will be the technical expert in Dams across the region. You will oversee the effective management of client council owned dams ensuring their compliance with the dam safety regulations and the development of subsequent robust asset management practices. You will bring people along on the journey and get to work both in the office and out in the field.

The role will see you:

  • Build and implement the Dam Safety Assurance Program (DSAP) for the Wellington Region
  • Develop and implement strategy for maintaining compliance in keeping with Dam safety standards and regulations
  • Research and stay up to date with dam safety industry standards
  • Manage and maintain dam surveillance and associated monitoring data
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide expert technical support across the organisation and Region.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

    • A bachelors degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental or related discipline), ideally Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
    • Significant experience in dam safety and asset management
    • An in-depth understanding of dam safety regulations and industry best practices
    • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and external resources
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to compliment your excellent communication ability
