STMS

The purpose of this role is to provide Traffic Management to the various projects being delivered by HEB Construction and other areas as required by the Civil and Maintenance Division.

Operational Excellence

• Setting up and removing sites
• Completion of all required documentation prior to and post projects.
• Directing incoming deliveries to site while ensuring the safety of workers and pedestrians and the occasional management of crews assisting in the establishment, maintenance and removal of the site traffic management measures.
• The STMS will be required to work on day or night shifts as required on local road projects and state highways (rural and urban).

• Understand and uphold HEB Constructions Health and Safety Policy, Procedures, Standards and Rules
• Take all practical steps to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace
• Display positive and proactive attitudes towards safety and reduce harm always
• Attend daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and other safety initiatives undertaken by Supervisors/Foremen, as well as actively participate in them
• Attend safety training when required
• Ensure all hazards have been identified and adequately controlled by the project team
• Notify management of incidents
• Be compliant with Safe work methodologies and report non-compliance to Supervisor
• Ensure correct installation and maintenance of site safety measures and temporary works
• Wear all safety clothing and equipment as required by HEB or Client Policies and for specific tasks (all safety clothing and equipment will be supplied by HEB)
• Undertake tasks in a safe manner for both yourself, others on site and the public

Qualifications / Experience / Competencies

Essential:

• Current CoPTTM Cat A/B Qualification
• Full Class 1 Drivers Licence
• Full Class 2 Drivers Licence
• Site Safe Passport
• Construct Safe Tier 1

Experience

Essential:

• Relevant experience on civil construction and roading sites in New Zealand
• Experience on Local Roads, State Highways (both Rural and Urban) and of High to Low Speed Environments

• Ability to adapt to the fast-paced work environment and be able to make decisions under pressure
• Ability to coach and train on site staff to ensure a high level of traffic management is maintained
• Professional presentation and ability to communicate effectively with clients and members of the public
• Thorough understanding of the CoPTTM

• Must have reliable transport to get you to and from the yard every day/night when needed
• Physical ability to complete work
