Established in 2004, Sunshine Solar has become a leading name in solar energy solutions. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technican in Christrchurch, this role is full time permenant role with minimum 30 hours a week and Salary of $92,000-$96,000 Annully depending on your qualification and work experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify solar and battery system designs, including inverter selection, phase configuration, battery sizing, export limits, and network requirements. 
  • Provide technical support to installation, operations, and customer service teams, investigating faults and resolving technical issues. 
  • Monitor installed systems, analyse performance data, identify issues, and recommend optimisation improvements. 
  • Prepare technical documentation including SLDs, string layouts, commissioning records, DG application support Documentation, and compliance documents 
    Support network applications, engineering approvals, and technical reporting requirements. 
  • Develop technical resources, assist with training, and provide guidance to internal teams. 
  • Identify process improvements, improve design standards, and support evaluation of new renewable energy technologies. 
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, network providers, engineers, and other technical stakeholders. 
  • Maintain technical knowledge resources and SOPs.

    Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in electrical system design, renewable energy systems, or electrical engineering support. 
  • Ability to analyse technical data, diagnose faults, and provide practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of solar systems, battery storage, electrical standards, and compliance requirements. 
  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Design Quality: Ensure accurate system designs with minimal design errors, rework, or installation delays. 
  • Technical Support: Provide timely technical assistance, resolve escalations efficiently, and maintain ownership of issues through to completion. 
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure technical documents, applications, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • System Performance: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability and customer outcomes. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Support improvements through technical resources, training, SOPs, and process enhancements.
     

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; or
At least two years' relevant work experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
