Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insights that drive better people decisions? We are looking for a People Insights Analyst to join our People Experience team and play a key role in shaping workforce planning, strategy, and decision-making across the organisation.
In this role, you'll gather, analyse, model and interpret workforce data to provide valuable insights into workforce trends, participation, and performance. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders to develop reporting, forecasting, and visualisations that support evidence-based decision making and help improve people outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with business partnering, helping to deliver high-quality analytics that influence key people initiatives and organisational priorities. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, reporting processes, and analytical capabilities.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience working with complex qualitative and quantitative data, with the ability to draw out patterns, identify key insights, and translate findings into practical advice or recommendations.
- A curious and questioning mindset, with the confidence to explore data, test assumptions, and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and data quality.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, visualisations and workforce analytics that support decision making.
- Strong capability using data and analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Python, R, SAS, or similar platforms to extract, analyse, model, and present data.
- The ability to identify business needs, gather relevant data, and tell a compelling story through analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- An understanding of people analytics, workforce planning, HR data, or public sector environments would be advantageous.
- A commitment to understanding and contributing to meaningful outcomes for Māori.

Utu ā-tau/ Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $85,562 to $116,273 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
