Ministry for Pacific Peoples – Wellington, North Island
The Advisor, Communications contributes to the delivery of communications, media and digital services across the Ministry. The role supports the development of communications products and campaigns, contributes to digital content across the Ministry's channels, and helps plan, coordinate and report on external Ministry activity and events.
This is an opportunity to develop your knowledge and communications expertise, supporting a small team on a wide array of communications activities. Your day-to-day will focus on communications and digital activity including website content, social media, communications planning and delivery, and internal communications. You will also support the Ministry's events and engagements activities, including Pacific Language Weeks, managing logistics and capturing content.

The midpoint of this salary range is $83,662. (Band 15) Starting salary will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, however appointments are usually made at or below the midpoint of the band.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging communications content for different audiences.
Ability to build effective working relationships and support internal stakeholders to deliver communications outcomes.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Sound judgement and awareness of reputational considerations when supporting communications activities.
Interest in Pacific communities and the ability to develop communications that resonate with diverse audiences.
Experience developing communications materials such as website and social media content, newsletters, media responses or internal communications.
Experience supporting communications campaigns, events or cross-channel communications activity would be beneficial.
