Chef wanted

JIE Deli Ltd is a Christchurch-based company. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

This role is responsible for planning and organising the preparation and cooking of Chinese cuisine to support the business operations of the company.

• Contributing to menu planning and updates in line with company standards, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.

• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.

• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff.

• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.

• Preparing and cooking food.

• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.

• Selecting, training, and supervising staff.

• Freezing and preserving food where required.

• At least 1 year, and ideally 2 or more years, of relevant work experience, or a relevant New Zealand Level 5 qualification or above.

• A good work attitude and good communication skills.

• Strong motivation and reliability.

• Physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Good workmanship and attention to detail.

• A strong commitment to health and workplace safety.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other team members.

• The ability to work independently.
