Our AI & Data team is looking for an AI Business Analyst Consultant to join our Wellington team!

Job Description
  • Passionate about identifying the business problems, needs, requirements and use cases across industries for potential generative and agentic artificial intelligence solutions? Dive into a world where you can explore, assess, and capture the benefits from cutting‑edge tools that have the potential to enhance the industry.
  • Join a tech‑driven, innovative, and fast‑paced team that thrives on making a significant impact. We're not just about ideas; we bring them to life by leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies, and apply them to our own work.
  • Tackle a wide range of tech challenges across various projects and environments. Continuously apply and enhance your skills in generative and agentic AI and cloud technologies, ensuring constant learning and growth.

About the role and team

As a member of our AI Pod in our Artificial Intelligence & Data team you will play an active role in identifying business problems and opportunities that would benefit from generative and agentic AI solutions. From defining business processes and identifying interventions that would deliver great outcomes, to defining requirements for AI use cases that will enable transformation in our Deloitte teams and our clients’ businesses.

The position is an exciting role that encompasses all the characteristics of modern business analysis working in teams focused on the full‑stack, end‑to‑end delivery of generative artificial intelligence projects using leading digital platforms and foundation models. You will have a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including business analysis, process mapping and modelling, user story development, use case value estimation, business case development, change impact assessment, and testing and evaluating AI models.

This position provides the opportunity to work in various challenging technical environments across different industries and functions. You will also help deliver the tools and accelerators our consulting teams will use to embed AI in their everyday work. Our GenAI Lead, Directors and Partners are committed to supporting your career and skills development, providing strategic direction to ensure your personal goals align with opportunities provided.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teams to deepen their understanding of generative AI by contributing to workshops, capability‑uplift sessions, and practical demonstrations of responsible and effective AI use.
  • Helping identify opportunities where generative and agentic AI can enhance business processes by mapping current workflows, analysing value, and assessing the potential impact of AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Assisting in the development of AI‑powered accelerators and tools that streamline delivery activities, standardise outputs, and improve efficiency across consulting and project environments.
  • Contributing to the creation of requirements, user stories, and success measures for generative AI initiatives, and supporting the evaluation of AI model outputs to ensure they align with expected outcomes.
  • Working within agile delivery environments, using modern collaboration and project management tools to plan and deliver work while supporting ongoing change and readiness activities.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support transformation initiatives, ensure responsible adoption of AI, and maintain a culture of continuous learning in fast‑evolving AI practices.
Qualifications

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • A relevant diploma and an interest in understanding how organisations can deliver value through technology, strategy, and effective problem‑solving.
  • 2 years experience contributing to AI‑related initiatives—such as capability uplift, responsible AI practice, or early‑stage use case exploration—and a curiosity for how generative AI can be applied in practical settings.
  • Skills in process analysis, business problem identification, and solution design, with an ability to work across change, transformation, or delivery environments.
  • Exposure to agile ways of working, supported by familiarity with common collaboration tools and frameworks.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with a collaborative working style and a focus on positive team outcomes.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for generative AI and a desire to continuously grow your expertise as the field evolves.
