We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the continued growth of our data platform and business intelligence services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain enterprise database systems supporting business intelligence, reporting and data warehouse solutions.
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical database structures, schemas and data models.
  • Administer database environments including installation, configuration, upgrades and migrations.
  • Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning to ensure efficiency, scalability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage database security controls, user access permissions and data protection measures.
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Support ETL processes and data integration activities across multiple business systems and platforms.
  • Maintain data quality, consistency and integrity across enterprise databases.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution of system incidents.
  • Prepare technical documentation and establish database administration standards and procedures.
  • Work closely with software developers, data engineers, analysts and client stakeholders to support data-driven business solutions.

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in database administration, data platform management, database engineering or enterprise data environments.
  • Strong experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch or similar database technologies.
  • Sound knowledge of database design principles, indexing strategies, query optimisation and performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transactional systems, data warehouses or business intelligence environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based server environments and cloud-hosted database platforms.
  • Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and Data Warehouse platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise data integration and data governance practices.
  • Experience working within technology consulting or client-facing project environments.
